Graduated from Hacettepe University, Faculty of Science, Department of Biology in 1990. Received master of science degree in 1993 and PhD degree in 1999 from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Microbiology and Clinical Microbiology. In 2003, performed postgraduate study in Georgetown University in Washington, DC, USA. In 2007, received the title of Associate Professor in the field of Medical Microbiology. Between 2009-2012, served as vice director of Hacettepe University Vocational School of Health Services. Currently working as the vice director, chairman and academic staff of the same school's Medical Laboratory Techniques Program.
