The aim of this program is to train the assistant staff needed in the studies carried out by the physician for the use of X-rays in the diagnosis and treatment of the disease. Those who complete the program are given the Associate Degree Diploma and the title of Health Technician (Radiology). theoretical courses in the first year, internship training in the second year. Students do their practical training in various units of Hacettepe University Department of Radiology, in areas such as patient and film preparation, dark room, direct filming, Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Vascular and nonvascular interventional radiology. They can work in examinations with imaging centers. They can film the patients as determined by the physician, prepare and apply the devices of the patients receiving radiation therapy.

Employment Areas: Radiology Technicians; in units of state and private hospitals such as conventional x-ray, Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Vascular Angio, Nonvascular Interventional Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Radiotherapy departments; they can work in private hospitals, private imaging centers and practices

MEDICAL IMAGING TECHNICIAN JOB DESCRIPTION

Medical imaging technician, graduated from colleges with associate degree education in the field of medical imaging; It is a healthcare professional who performs the required radiological examinations according to the instructions given by the physician, with the most appropriate method and projection, taking into account the patient's clinic.

DUTIES, AUTHORITIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performing the radiological examinations requested by the physician with the most appropriate shooting protocols
  • Accepting patients in order of priority (e.g. emergency patients) and ensuring that the examinations are referred to the relevant departments
  • Informing the patients about the radiological examination and ensuring their preparation
  • Ensuring the radiation safety and privacy of the patient during the examination and the confidentiality of patient information after the examination
  • To carry out and follow up the periodic calibration, maintenance and repairs of the medical fixtures for which he is responsible, to report the situation to the department supervisors or the biomedical unit in case of malfunctions.
  • Providing consumables for the fixtures for which it is responsible
  • Carrying the dosimeter on its name while working, ensuring that it is read at certain intervals.
  • Having skin and eye examinations and blood tests at regular intervals
  • Checking the quality of the films or examinations taken
  • Keeping records of the transactions performed, ensuring regular archiving of audits
  • Actively participating in institutional development, total quality management and accreditation studies.
